Does the 1st Amendment say "Seperation of Church and State"?

I am not sure what the big deal about Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell's question "Where in the Constitution is the separation of church and state?" If you read the First Amendment it say's:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Clearly it doesn't say "Separation of Church and State". I did not get a chance to listen to the whole debate in question.  It seems to me like the Democraps are just making a mountain out of a mole hill.  From the article in question, O'Donnell was just stating a fact.

The First Amendment say's what it say's.  Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.  Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise of religion.  Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech.  Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of press.  Congress shall make no law abridging the right of the people peaceably to assembly.  And finally, Congress shall make no law abridging the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

There you go.

Just for clarification...

What kind of government does the United States have?

 A Constitutional Republic!

NOT A DEMOCRACY.

Do they not teach this in school anymore?  Good Lord.
